Awarded the "Shizuoka Prefectural Governor's Commendation" as an excellent employer of people with disabilities
Nanbu Kasei Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Yoshida Town, Haibara District, Shizuoka Prefecture; President: Hisashi Kuroda) was recognised for its efforts in "employing people with disabilities who become valuable members of the workplace" at the 2024 Shizuoka Prefecture Promotion of Employment for Persons with Disabilities Conference (hosted by Shizuoka Prefecture, co-hosted by the Shizuoka Branch of the Organization for Employment of the Elderly, Persons with Disabilities and Job Seekers, supported by the Shizuoka Labour Bureau), held on September 20th at the Shizuoka Prefectural Government. These efforts included collaboration with relevant support organisations before and during hiring, on-site visits with the individual's family present, support meetings, multi-skilling through job rotation, and the use of telework offices with on-site supervision. Director Aizumi attended the award ceremony to receive the commendation and commemorative gift from Shizuoka Governor Yasutomo Suzuki, and delivered a speech of thanks on behalf of the award recipients.
The "Shizuoka Prefectural Governor's Commendation" (for excellent employers of people with disabilities) is awarded to companies that deeply understand the importance of employing people with disabilities, actively hire them, and contribute to the independence of people with disabilities. In Shizuoka Prefecture, September is designated as "Disability Employment Support Month" each year. In collaboration with the Shizuoka Labour Bureau and the Shizuoka Branch of the Organization for Employment of the Elderly, Persons with Disabilities and Job Seekers, awareness activities are conducted to foster momentum for disability employment and support the vocational independence of people with disabilities. As part of this initiative, the Promotion of Employment for Persons with Disabilities Conference is held in co-hosting with the Shizuoka Branch of the Organization for Employment of the Elderly, Persons with Disabilities and Job Seekers, recognising companies that actively employ people with disabilities and individuals with disabilities who are active as exemplary professionals.
